Our Story

Blue Ocean Dive Centers & Resorts is the brainchild of a passionate team of travel experts. In 2003, tourism shifted slightly towards Marsa Alam, simultaneously with the opening of the airport. Khaled Hamed, a captain on his own leisure boat, followed the stream and moved from Hurghada to Marsa Alam to pursue his dream. Roaming the area, he offered his touristic services to the few hotels around at that time. Starting up with a small team, they took care of reservations, bookings, transport and guiding as a true self independent team of pioneers. Dolphin House, Elphinstone Reef, Om Halhalla and Abu Dabbab became their second home. Daily they were welcoming people from around the globe, learning from other cultures, educating and entertaining divers and snorkelers and always making new friends.

We Are Where The Action Is!

Blue Ocean Dive Centers & Resorts launched its first diving center and lodge in Marsa Abu Dabbab Bay, located 35 km north of Marsa Alam. This valuable bay, one of the Red Sea’s leading attractions, is famously known as ‘Turtle Bay’. Our speedboats roam in search of residential turtles and rare dugongs on request. Blue Ocean also organizes speedboat trips from Abu Dabbab to nearby offshore dive destinations, such as the amazing reefs of Elphinstone, Shaab Abu Dabbab 1, Marsa Shoona, Marsa Egla, Garden Reef and Om Halhalla. These days, Blue Ocean’s diving centers are present in the most outstanding resorts of the Red Sea. The diving centers of Blue Ocean are located at Abu Dabbab Beach, in Hilton Nubian Marsa Alam and the Old Palace Resort in Sahl Hasheesh, near Hurghada International Airport.

Blue Ocean's fleet is reaching out to the top prime offshore scuba diving and snorkeling destinations in the Red Sea. Our scheduled daily boat trips and overnights are operated from Sahl Hasheesh, Port Ghaleb, Marsa Alam and Hamata marina in the south of the Red Sea.
